Description:

Housed within a circa 1860 structure, the Huntsville Depot and Museum is one of the country’s oldest remaining railroad buildings; visitors can climb aboard locomotives and view Alabama’s largest public model railroad, Civil War exhibits and graffiti written by soldiers. The museum also offers a “Kid’s Corner” complete with train puzzles, costumes and maps. Just blocks away is the family-friendly Big Spring Park, as well as numerous dining establishments for a hungry family.

Open Mar - Dec: Wed. - Sat., 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Closed Sun. - Tue.; Closed Jan - Feb.
